Christmas

The holidays of holidays: Christmas.

Woke up early as hell (7:30) to open the gifts (actually I had to be awaken). Anyways, got some snacks, a boardgame, Terminator: Salvation on blu-ray and some $$$$. I'd say it was a pretty good Christmas this year and now I'm about to enjoy the nightlife (hopefully).

On My Mind

What's on my mind this week: there's Christmas, and it's 4 days away. I finally finished a semester of school with a 4.0 GPA; long time coming. There's my on-again/off-again relationship with sleeping; some nights I will fall asleep in 15 minutes, other times I can't go to sleep and eventually get only 4 hours of sleep (last night). And I do have another thing on my mind, but I'll save that for some other time. That's actually been on my mind for quite some time but I think I should keep it to myself. See you on Christmas.

"Anybody Order a Loveburger Well Done..."

Have you seen "Can't Hardly Wait"? Nah. Well then, you should get yourself to the nearest blockbuster or be a law-breaker and find it online somewhere or steal it from a helpless 21 year old who saw it when he was 11 years old. Just see it regardless. A band even named their demo after the movie and it's lines. Too bad their new cd sucked.

Things Fall Apart

Imma tell you this right now... If you don't like The Roots, that is a big FUCK YOU to your face. One of a few groups left that actually play good music and make Hip-Hop worth listening to. This ain't no Triple C's shit, this some real shit. Actually made of mix of them yesterday. Yep. Burn. Mix. Awesome shit.

So... 2 and a half more weeks of school and I think I'm finally gonna get the 4.0 I've been waiting for. And after I get that... gonna fuckin party. Yep. Party. Hard.

Bye.

A New Sun Rises

Celebrated my niece's 6th birthday with a party and I just so happened to enjoy myself.

Winter is approaching and it's time to bust out some hoodies and beanies and gloves and scarfs and long-sleeve button-ups (in my case). And school is almost over. Thanksgiving on thursday, tight. Now it's time to be a good samaratian and fullfill a request.

A Lack of Color

You know what... I like Death Cab for Cutie, especially their Transatlanticism record. Furthermore, A Lack of Color has to be one of the best songs ever (or so I believe). It's my favorite song from them and has been in my head for at least the good past few months. So yeah... I like it, hopefully you do too.

There is a Light That Never Goes Out

There's only very few songs that come close to touching this song.

Anyways, "NEAT" finally premiered and what a success it was. Probably one of the best experiences of my life and I look forward to do it again real soon.

Oh yeah, a month of school left for the semester.

And... I think I might get lucky in the coming weeks (not what you think you pervert). Got a good feeling about this.

After about 2-and-a-half-years of skating, bitching, moaning, groaning, broken boards, rolled ankles, Cali & AZ trips, countless tapes, a couple of stolen cameras, and a little bit of crying, "NEAT" is ready to premiere this saturday. The Days Go By Oh So Slow

Since the beginning of the semester until about a week ago dyas just flew by. The past week or so have gone by slow FUCKING SLOW. Most likely due to the fact that the "NEAT" premiere is next saturday and just about everyone is pretty stoked as fuck. School is starting to get a little boring due to the fact I only have to attend one class a day. And I can honestly say that this past weekend was the first time that I got completely shit-faced, eventually passing out and sleeping in a bathroom. Hopefully that will be the last time.

Anyways, today at school I screwed up a 3 minute presentation on public speaking and I saw Weezy walkin through the hallway (seriously if that wasn't him then it was his double). Dreaming a Reality

Have you ever had a dream that felt so real that you'd wish it actually happened? Of course you have, who hasn't? But unlike other dreams I had (ninja fighting, skate extraodinaire, ass-kicking bad-ass), if I was allowed to have one dream to come true, it would have been the one (recently) where I spent one entire day with my mom. Just me and her. Now I'm not the kinda of person that would want to re-live the past (even for as much as I reminisce it every day) but chances are that if I could re-live that, I would say yes in a heartbeat.

The Summer Ends

Yep. After much bbq, swimming, partying, drinking, drunkness, sleeping, skating, climbing trees and spending money, summer is over, at least for me. It was a step up from last summer but it got really boring near the end. Regardless, I'm excited for school. Every day I get that much closer to finishing it altogether. It's because of these guys that make me wanna say "this is why I love hip-hop"; and it's really a damn shame that rappers that are labeled as "hip-hop" today have watered-down lyricism over the most horrible beats and think their shit is "hot" just because that stupid shit plays all day on radio, tv and clubs. Hip-hop is just not the way it use to be, and the saddest part about that is that it'll never will be that way again. *sniffles*

The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows

In a few days I will have one month left to waste away another summer; however, it seems this month hasn't been very good. Other than 4th of July and the week after that not much excitement has happen. Hopefully I can find some fuckin shit to do within the next month and a half or it's gonna be another shitty as summer.

Something this week has happened as well. It made me realize something about someone but I think I'll keep quiet for now, as I spent a few minutes debating whether to tell or not and (for now) I think it's best to keep quiet.

Let's Recap...

Here's how my week was...

Mon. 6/29: skated in 100 degree weather, somehow damaged my foot.
Tues. 6/30: made an attempt to skate, failed; went gambling, became $15 richer, stoked.
Wed. 7/1: chilled with a good friend of mine (went out to eat, sang some songs, played pool, hit the pipe and chilled), had a pretty good time actually.
Thurs. 7/2: still hurt, didn't do shit.
Fri. 7/3: again made an attempt to skate, again failed.
Sat. 7/4: bbq, drunk, fireworks, poolside, drunk again and a half-a-step from getting laid.
Sun. 7/5: typing this shit up.

hopefully this week can be better...

Summer

In a couple of days it will officially be summer. So far it has gone a little bit better than I had expected to be. Good sign I guess. Got 11 more days to find a job until I puff. Hopefully I can still apply for summer classes. But lately been doing a whole lot of nothing, which includes watching The O.C., skating, GTA3 and some astronomy reading. Another thing; I might be finding myself in a bit of a dilemma with someone and I don't know how to approach it. Nostalgia, Pt. II

If there is one recurring theme in my life, it is nostalgia. If sure everybody gets that feeling every once in a while, but it seems to be like an everyday thing for me. I found my Playstation a while ago (yes, the first version) and it reminded when I was 10 and 11 playing Crash Bandicoot for hours and hours straight, and some Mortal Kombat here and there. Yep, those were the days. Although the PS1 is found, my games however are not. I've been on a scavenger hunt for old ass PS1 games, specifically Crash and MK.

The music part is always on my mind. Lately the 1999-2001 era of alternative rock has been on my playlists for the past week. Still rockin the Chilli Peppers, Foo Fighters, Ailen Ant Farm, Deftones, Incubus, 311 and all that other good shit. Those were the days.

Decisions, Decisions...

So I took the time to sit down and think about my future as far as school goes.

If I keep goin at the same pace as I am right now (that includes not dropping any classes), I will for sure graduate winter 2010. However, I can take 2 summer classes and 3 this winter and next spring and I will be finished this time next year. Decisions, decisions.

This is what I have decided. I will look for a job once school is over. If I dont get a job by the end of june, I will call some people and smoke some blunts, then I will proceed to take summer classes so I can hopefully finish school 6 months earlier. Sure hope it'll be a good plan.

The Legend of Takeru

"There once was a fearsome warrior named Takeru. He was the greatest samurai in the empire. He did not fear no man, no thing. He was honest, noble, and brave. Those who did him or anyone wrong suffered the consequences. But on one cold, dark night, he saw his childhood friend, beaten and bruised, by a gang of local yakuza. Angered and pissed-the-fuck-off, he swore revenge against those who were involved. He would get his revenge 2 nights later, when he confronted the gang by himself. The gang was no match for Takeru. One-by-one, the gang savagely beaten with ease. Still angered but not willing to kill, Takeru spared the gang their lives, letting them live the rest of their lives as weak, selfless, cowards. However, like Takeru, the gang swore revenge on him and only him. Realizing they are no match for Takeru, the gang hires Hidari, the shogun's decpaitator. He has cut off the heads of 131 lords. Never has he failed in killing anyone he was sent to kill. Needless to say, he was a gnarly fuckin ninja. His next victim... Takeru. Upon returning home one evening, Takeru sees a dark, shadow figure creeping upon him. Appraoching the corner, he waits. As he peaked his head around the corner, an arrow skims pass his face. He sees who shot the arrow... Hidari. Hidari continues to shot but Takeru dodges every arrow he shoots. With no more arrows, Hidari draws his sword. Takeru, now knowing he's marked for death, draws his as well. Hidari, believing this would be an easy kill, underestimated the skill of Takeru, finally realizing... Takeru is a gnarly fuckin ninja as well. With each step, they are coming closer and closer to each other until finally seeing eye. And right before the battle begins....."

I just so happen to wake up! It pisses me off that I always wake-up from a dream right when it is about to get pretty fuckin gnarly. Cuz if you were to ask me, that would had been one hell of a fight. And I ruined it, most likely never knowing what would had happen.

But you know what... it's fun to dream

MOTHERFUCK!

Let's recap my week shall we....

Friday 4/3: I wore a hoody for the last possible time til late october. I will miss winter. (no real importance)

Sunday 4/5: spend a total of 4 hours completing 11 pages worth of accounting homework (9 of those pages was one single problem). spend another hour making a study sheet of management exam.

Monday 4/6: After turning in those 11 pages, I get assigned another 7 more. Add studying for an hour for mgt. exam and small bus. mgt. key test.

Tuesday 4/7 (today): Assigned mgt. report due on 9th. Hey, let's also work on the mgt. research report this week since I totally have nothing to do. Better yet, say fuck me and give me a 50 question take home test for SBM which 30 questions will not be in the book. If you really want to make it sweet, give me another take home test on thursday as well.

Wednesday 4/8 (I can predict the future): After turning in those 7 pages of accounting that I couldn't finish, give me 8 more pages to do over the weekend, since I have that all down and shit.

Thursday 4/9 (seriously, I'm a fuckin psychic): turn in my mgt. report that I typed and printed out 15 min. before class. And in case you didn't know, imma get another exam to take home for SBM, only this time 25 questions won't be found in the book. Oh yeah, that research report thing as well.

So, if you studied you math last night, that would mean from the 5th up until 12th, I will have done 26 pages of accounting homework, one mgt. report, maybe completed the first 50 question exam, half of my research report part done, studied for one exam and word-perfect key test, and eaten one burrito.

Holy freakin shit dude. The worst week of school yet.

Accounting 201

A little bit of advice: If you are going to take accounting or plan on taking accounting, prepare yourself for the worst. If you are like me and for some reason can't just understand the concepts of accrual accounting, ledgers, income statements, perpetual inventories and such, study now. It has been said that accounting can make you rich (or well off financially), but if you have trouble with it, you will struggle for the rest of your life. I really hope that isn't me. Well, one test will decided if I will pass accounting or fail it.

Never have I ever been this stressful or nervous about one test.

School

Hopefully in about 4 years I look back at life and realize how important and happy i was that I stayed in school and got a degree. But until then, school sucks. I try to make it as best as I can but sometimes it gets the best of me. Example: about 2 weeks ago, it took me 4 hours to do homework, just for accounting. I could have spend 4 hours: watching 3 episodes of Boondocks, getting a skate session, play some PS2, make a mix cd, eat some tacos, and enjoying a mocha frapucchino. Instead, I had to deal with writing account balances (that I couldn't get to balance right) and writing journal entries that were completely wrong.

As much as I want to stay positive about school, every now and then I just wanna say "fuck it!". However, if I were to drop-out now, it would be the biggest disappointment in my life, no joke. So I guess its best to not be a bitch about it and tough it out. Matter of fact, call me a bitch, cause if you were in my shoes, you'd feel the same way.

R.I.P. Hip-Hop

Illmatic, Enter the Wu-Tang, The Low End Theory, Ready to Die, 3 Feet High and Rising, Paid in Full, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back; what do these albums have in common? They are considered among the greatest hip-hop albums ever recorded. These albums have influenced countless rappers, producers and each has gained a strong cult following. Fast-forwarded to 2004: Get Low reaches #1 on Billboards Hot RAP tracks and #2 on the Top 100.

Since then, beats and lyricism have been replaced with half-assed synthesizers and chourses consisting of "WHAT!?!?, YEAH!!!!!". Crunk and Snap music ( so to speak) have been the reigning supreme for the past 3-5 years (depending when you started to lose faith in hip-hop). Somehow, they end up selling millions of albums and receive massive airplay on MTV and BET (latter being an absolute given). Striking, isn't it.

Next we got rappers who can't rap, yet they claim to be the best rapper alive (yes, him). Let me give you an example:

"What is that, who is that, I never heard of it
I will take your picture and make a 'rest in peace' shirt of it
Tell those niggas beatin to make a rest in peace shirt of me cause I
Killed and now don't tell no one you heard of me
It's like, the beat was screamin, murder me
And I'm a, murderer
So I murdered it"

compare that to:

"I stagger in the gathering possessed by a patterin that be scatterin
Over the globe will my vocals be travellin
Unravellin my abdomen it's Lon that's babblin
Grammatics that are masculine"

It's amazing of how hip-hop when from being introspective storytelling to trying to "superman dat hoe". These days it seems like lyrics don't even matter, but as long as you got the "hoes", bling" and "shot a nigga or two", you are a made man. And don't worry about the critics saying how you're destroying hip-hop, bragging how much bling you have or how hard you're tryin to incorporate you "street-life" into your career, you'll always have the support of dumb niggas or crew of people defending you because "your new joint is hot!!!".

Nostalgia

1. a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition; A bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past.

You know that feeling when you here a certain word, phrase, see a movie or hear a certain song (especially), it makes you think back to a certain time in your life that reminds you, "those were some fucking good times" or "I wish could go back to those days". That ladies and gentlemen is called Nostalgia.

Whenever I hear that word, I always think back to 2003-2005, more so late '03, early '04.
I can honestly say between that period was the best time of my life. Back when I didnt have to worry about paying for school, finding a job, having little money, supporting myself, etc. Bascially it was when I had no true "responsibilities". Everything during that period was great: music, people I knew or met, events, actually being involved in skating, school, goin to shows; couldn't ask for anything better.

But as everyone knows, good things never last forever. Things change, people grow up, move away, lose touch and, sadly, some are not here anymore. Out of the 100 people I knew, I can only name maybe 10 off the top of my head I still keep contact with, but the good thing is I'll always have 10 people I can always reminisce, and for that I always cherish those conversations. Other than that, music sucks now these days, nothing exciting happens, school is pissing me off (though I am willing to go through it), I am in spitting distance away from quitting skating, and there's MAYBE a good show once every 5-7 months.

I sure some people (I hope) feel the same way I feel, wishing they could go back to a period of time when they truly enjoyed it. Sadly, the more I grow up, the more I wish to go back. Some people may think its bad to not let go of the past but the way I see it, you'd only keep wishing it if you truly enjoyed what you experienced.

....And that's my rant for the day/week (to make up for the missing posts).

Since we're talking about nostalgia...

Back to School

Back to school it is. Here's my predictions of how the year is gonna go:

Principles of Mgt.: same instructor as business class. dont expect any problems. A for sure
Small Business Mgt.: Instructor seems a little weird. Too much "unnecessary" materials. He himself told I'll expect an A
Accounting: Just might be my biggest concern this semester. Heard the guy is cool but I have a feeling I will struggle

downloaded some "scene" shit today. you'll see.

Done bitching. bye.
