Love Her Madly

After about a month and a half I finally got my computer fixed, though it has no sound. Anyways a few things have happended since then: dropped my business law class, thinking about getting a job, losing the motivation to skate even more, i'm broke and I just hyperextended my elbow last night. Well at least my computer is fixed. btw, been really liking this song lately.

Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)

The inevitable has happened once again. My computer crashed for the third time in the last 2 years. This time to multiple power-outages that probably corrupted the sit out of my computer. So for the third time I will have to recover my music files, organize them, rename them and import them. At least I saved my pictures. I will only recover about 27 gigs of music, which is whatever is on my iPod. The other I will have to find and download them again or go to the library and raid their collection. What the shit!? And you know what album I didn't save on my iPod...

Have Faith in Me

Wanna hear something controversial... I like A Day to Remember, especially their first album. 2nd album, ok but not horrible, still liked it. 3rd album... heard a little clip of a song from it and hated it. But a few weeks ago I decided to actually listen to it out of pure bordem and I kept seeing a promo of them with this song in it. I was wrong. I actually like it and have been playing it for the past 3 weeks or so.

But anyways, my summer is over and I'm going back to school tomorrow. Apparently my business law class is one of THE most difficult classes at the college and I heard the teacher is one evil bitch. Hopefully I'll stick it out pass it so I can not graduate this semester. Yep.

Cringe

Sunday: I was browsing through a sports website. Then, a weird "pop-up" appeared. Damn near frozen my computer. I restarted it but when I went to login on all of the websites I usually lurk on (Myspace, Last.FM, Blogger) my login and passwords were cleared off. Did it every time I went online through yesterday (tuesday). Decided to update my Webroot antivirus; low and behold, that "pop-up" hit me with a trojan virus. I think I managed to wipe it off my computer but there's a small chance something could still be looming in my hard drive that will crash my computer in the next few days. Gotta hope and cross my fingers that won't happen... again.

All These Things That I've Done

The other day I went to take a placement test to get in to one of my final classes for my degree. Turns out I didn't pass, which therefore makes graduation this year out of the question. Definately a bummer. And since another class I need is only offered at the other end of the world, only 1 class will count towards my degree next semester. What a way to kill my year.

Moment of Truth

Hip-Hop lost one of it's most beloved, respected and influential rappers of all time earlier this week: Guru. Many know him as one-half of Gang Starr along with DJ Premier. Guru is credited with combining jazz and hip-hop that proved to be highly influential in the early 90's and is known for his trademark battle rhymes. It's always sad to lose such a well-known and highly respected person who paved the way for many, many acts. But I am glad to considered myself a fan of his work. Thank you Guru for making dope music for 20 plus years.

For What Reason

Probably for the past year I've been talking a lot of shit about the "Twilight Saga". I don't think the story is all that amazing, nor do I think the films are that great, but I wouldn't say they're terrible. I even bear a slight resemblence to Jacob Black. Yet after all of that, I had a dream that I had a dream that I was Jacob Black and fighting some vampires in a really gnarly battle and I was able to fly, which I'll admit that was the best part of the dream. Why I would dream of that only God knows.

How ironic.

The Last Thing You Forget

You know what really grinds my gears? Pop-Punk. It's safe to say that I've been listening to pop-punk for about the past 11 years and for the most part, I know what good pop-punk sounds like, when it's bad and when it just fuckin sucks. A friend of mine gave me a cd today and while listening to it it made me think a little. The past few years I've started to see a trend, more so a "gimmick" in pop-punk. It seems like 50% of new pop-punk bands incorporate a keyboard in their music while 40% of them try to mix it up with melodic hardcore (sometimes referred to "happy hardcore/easycore/pop-core"), about 5% of the new bands will probably just play annoying "preeteen/teen-angst" pop-punk in vein of Blink-182 and NFG but just suck at it while the remaining 5% (yes I actually did the math) will actually play music that qualifies as pop-punk. The point I'm trying to make is that pop-punk doesn't sound the way it use to, and that happens with just about every genre of music. While not necessarly bad, do we really need to hear the same, often times annoying, keyboards or synthesizers or the whiny, high-pitched "left my girlfriend/you never cared for me" song? I have a feeling pop-punk will start to lose touch with people, the same way hip-hop has had. And it's always sad when one of your favorite genres turn to watered-down, sub-par music that appeals to the massives but sounds like shit. At least there's still a few that are going strong.

So there's my rant on pop-punk. Now let's go listen to some good pop-punk.

Stress: The Extinction Agenda

So, the past few months have taken a toll on me and the stress factor has been looming over my head since the second week of the semester, due to the amount of school work I have every other damn night. This stress is probably the reason why I now might have a new case of insomnia. 8 hours is considered to be a full nights rest (bullshit); however, on average (throughout the week) it takes me about an hour and a half to 2 hours just to go to sleep and eventually get about 5 hours of sleep before I get up and get ready for school. This past saturday I got 3 hours of sleep and then went to the mountains. I did however sleep pretty good Sunday night though. Let's hope I can sleep good tonight.

A Single Second

Went snowboarding for the first time yesterday. The best advice I can give you about snowboarding for the first time is don't do it when you have a hangover, you will throw up eventually. But anyways, it was incredibly frustrating, fell at least 20 times, I looked stupid falling all those 20 times, twisted my knee and the left side of my body is now sore. Gnarliest Dream Ever

Fact: I have some weird, gnarley, sometimes fucked up dreams, but last night was probably one of the (at least top 5) gnarliest dreams I will ever have. Now, let me begin:

Dream starts out me being stranded in probably the worst area of N. Las Vegas (deep Northtown shit). Being that I desperately wanted to get home, nonetheless out of the area, the quickest way possible would be cutting through some crackhead, murder-infested alleyways. While walking through the alleys I end up finding a loaded gun. I decided to keep the gun until I find my way out just in case if I get fucked with or mugged (which I really wanted to avoid), so at least I'll have something to protect myself. I come across a guy trying to steal a car (think it was a SUV). He ends up seeing me watching him trying to steal it. Since I really want to find a way out, I end up making a deal with him that if he can get me out the area as far as he can, as close to my place, I wouldn't snitch on him stealing the SUV (awesome deal, right?) Not even 2 blocks later cops are tailing us (might have been watching us the whole time). Guy driving wants to make a break for it but I wasn't down with it. I told him to stop and let me out but he wouldn't let me out. Once he kinda slowed down I tucked and roll out of the car. No injuries or anything but I already lay face down on the ground knowing I'm gonna get arrested for being in a stolen car and I still had my gun on me so now I'm really fucked (the whole time I was thinking how bad my dad was going to kick the shit out of me). Turns out the cops arresting me are some of the most crooked cops I've ever seen. I'm cuffed and thrown in the back of a squad car. Now this is where the gnarlyness picks up.

Still in the area, these cops take me to a incredibly gnarly party in an equally gnarley apartment complex. They bring me upstairs and told me to stay in the room and not to move or do anything. The 2 cops start to party the night away, drinking beer and smoking weed the whole time in a party filled with some crazy mexicans a la La Raza Nation. At one point they even offer me a hit of weed. At some point I manage to slip both of my hands out of the cuffs. More Surprisingly, I tell the cops I slipped out of my cuffs! However, they really didn't seem to care, as long as I don't leave the room. Sometime later shots are fired around the apartments and everyone is going crazy. I'm told by one of the officers to lay on the ground (near the bed) and to put my cuffs back on. A short time later they have who I believe was the shooter in custody but they end up just sticking him under the bed while they keep smoking weed. Since I was laying down I look to my left (under the bed) and I notice the shooter (who looked like he was around 16, 17 or 18 at most) still had a gun on him which meant the officers failed to search him. While the cops were calling back on their radios, the kid rolls out from under the bed and starts shooting the shit out of the cops, point blank!. He ended up shooting both of them to death! I get up and see both officers dead and then the kid looks at me. He signals me to get out of here. I look at him, look at the dead cops, look at him again, and I left the room, not even giving a shit about the 2 cops, nonetheless watching them die before my eyes (which I think was probably the scariest part of the dream).

I head downstairs and throw the cuffs in a bush and (only god knows why) I happen to have a pair of nunchucks in my hands that I stuff in the sleeve of my hoodie (hey, it's a dream), just in case again (by the way, don't know what happen to the gun). Just as I start walking away, I hear another cop asking me if I knew anything about gunshots in the area. I make-up a bullshit story about how I heard shots earlier in the day about a block away and I guess the cop believed me since I continued to walk away without him chasing me or asking me any more questions. Trying to get out of their as fast as I can, I end up seeing one of my friends (whose a photographer) about to shoot photos for one of my other friends that's skating. Both of them surprised to see me there, and not knowing what just happen, they ask me what I'm doing. I told him, "Let's get the fuck out of here and take me with you. It's not safe here and we have to leave here right now!!" (or somewhere along those lines)...

At this point I wake up at a little after 3:30 in the morning. I took a second to realize what just happen and concluded that might just be the gnarliest dream I probably ever had. I then go back to sleep.

...but holy shit what a dream that was!
